These short summaries of notable people are automatically generated and updated once per day by Quicksilver, a self-updating knowledge base. The system is learning how to read the news and write about what it discovers. These profiles are likely to contain information that is missing from Wikipedia, the world's most important first point of information on most topics.
We're running an experiment to measure how quickly information reaches the public. Our goal is to accelerate that process by providing these computer-generated summaries of people from the world of science, medicine, and technology. To learn more, check out our blog post about the project.
